It was the smallest Burger of the Month Club meeting. But what we lacked in quantity we made up for in quality and welcomed burger virgin Woogie to the table. We grabbed a table outside to enjoy the beautiful summer evening.
While we could spot plenty of open spots from our outdoor table, some PAX struggled to find parking and gave up early on the evening.
The wait was not in vein, as we dined on a starter plate of Crab Beignets–which are worth visiting Cadence Kitchen in their own right.
Service was friendly and quick. The menu was just how we like; short burger list, and long beverage selection.
Burgers were delivered as soon as the beignets were polished off.
Jah Jah almost immediately declared victory and assigned the House Burger one of his highest rankings yet. He praised the burger as being perfectly cooked with a well balanced in flavor.
Woogie gave a middle of the road rating (not uncommon among burger virgins), but otherwise had little to complain about.
Big Wheel, however, received an overcooked burger which greatly skewed his score. He briefly thought about sending back but he held out hope that, somehow, it would get better with each passing bite. It did not.
Average burger rating comes in a mid-grade 3.6 and overall rating was a strong 4.1 with consistent scores from the group. The outdoor vibe, friendly service and menu selection being noted as exceptional.
The night was still young and we walked over to Cellar Door for additional libations. There was no sign of Chuck Taylor, but everyone at the bar regaled us with tales of the legend. Birdie quicky became our newest best friend and posed for a picture with the group and told us to say ‘hi’.
